This Charcuterie Board is made from ambrosia maple or wormy maple, a highly figured and rare type of maple, although not a distinct species of maple. What makes this wood so unique and truly one of a kind is the ambrosia beetles bore into the trunk of the tree, bringing with them the ambrosia fungi. Don't worry, it is not present in the wood anymore. The ambrosia fungi subsequently stains and discolors the surrounding wood, giving the wood its one of a kind gray and pinkish streaks. This ambrosia maple board came from a local mill in Orange, Virginia in 2021.
