This blocky, end grain Cutting Board is made from White Ash. This board is considered an end grain butcher block style board. Ash trees are dying off in great numbers all over Virginia and the East coast due to the Emerald ash bore, truly making this wood very unique as it came from a dying species of tree. This ash was salvaged in 2021 from Westover park in the City of Harrisonburg, VA and their Urban Wood Program.
